When Purpose Meets Healing: Impact Stories from Massage Therapists & Clients
Meet the People Behind CTI’s Healing Touch
At Care Through Touch, our massage therapists come from all walks of life, but they share a commitment to bringing compassionate, trauma-informed touch to people who too often go without it.
In this month’s stories, three CTI practitioners and three clients share what this work means to them, from finding purpose and connection to experiencing relief, grounding, and a renewed sense of being cared for.
We also hear from longtime CTI volunteer Marley Bronko, whose journey with massage began during the pandemic and grew into a deeper practice of care, connection, and community.
Read their stories and hear their voices in this month’s feature.
Treat for the Feet — Holy Thursday 2026
For over 20 years, Treat for the Feet has been a cherished CTI tradition, bringing compassionate foot massage to unhoused and marginally housed community members across San Francisco. Held each year on the Thursday before Easter, this special day reflects CTI’s enduring commitment to service, dignity, and human connection. On April 2, 2026, volunteers gathered at four sites to offer care, comfort, and a moment of respite to those who needed it.
Community in Action
This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the women whose compassion and leadership have shaped CTI’s story. From our founder, Mary Ann Finch, to the practitioners and volunteers who carry this work into new communities, their impact continues to ripple outward. Discover the stories of two women who embody CTI’s mission to build community and spread healing touch wherever it is needed.
Carrying Light and Care into the New Year
As we begin a new year, CTI remains committed to showing up with compassion, presence, and steady care for San Francisco’s most vulnerable neighbors. Despite funding challenges, our practitioners continue to bring healing touch and human connection to communities across the city. Read Mary Ann Finch’s reflections on the power of care, the importance of community, and how your support helps keep CTI’s mission alive.
